POWERDOWN

Powerdown is the leader in Australian designed suspension solutions for commercial vehicles. Established in 1983, in Cardiff NSW, Powerdown has over 36 years of experience in the suspension industry; designing and developing the most comprehensive range of truck, trailer and bus shock absorbers and ride control components.

In 1990, Powerdown launched the Supershock; the first shock absorber that was specifically designed for Australian roads and conditions. To this day Powerdown is dedicated to designing products that meet high standards and stringent requirements of performance, safety and value. The large range of suspension components are specifically designed for Australia’s harsh operating conditions, extreme temperatures and heavy loads; and is why Powerdown designed suspension components regularly outperform products designed for North America, Japan and Europe, on Australian roads.

Powerdown established their distribution network in New Zealand in 1995, and today, Powerdown products can be found around the globe; exporting to Africa, Europe, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, the West Indies, Middle East and South East Asia.

In 2003, after construction of their new premises in Beresfield, New South Wales, Powerdown installed the largest shock absorber dynamometer in Australia for research and development. To ensure that the Powerdown range continues to improve, and to remain leaders within the market, stringent testing is carried out in some of the most advanced shock absorber testing facilities in the country. Products are tested for performance and durability, and trialed in diversified road and climatic conditions.

In early 2020, Powerdown Australia was acquired by Filpro Automotive Australia. The incorporation of Powerdown into the Filpro Automotive group brought about further opportunities of expansion and innovation. Powerdown continues to manufacture and distribute all current Powerdown branded products for the heavy vehicle industry; and RAW 4×4 branded products for four-wheel drive passenger vehicles.
